Biography

Where many of their UK-based contemporaries dealt in recycling old Black Sabbath riffs, Flybynature, the four-piece from Wolverhampton formed out of the love of the Sub-Pop and 4AD punk sound of 80's icons the Pixies and Mudhoney. Over the course of their first year their abrasive sounds gave way to new influences from the New Romantic sound of New Order and Bowie to create something unique, innovative and alternative to the mainstream.
Flybynature have the distinct, edgy, forward-thinking sound that made Ivo Watts-Russell's 4AD so influential, but the alchemy of sounds combined with their rigid sonic architecture is cathartic, raw and reflective, and reveals ever deeper musical and lyrical wonders with each listen.
Some would tout Flybynature to bring alternative rock back into the mainstream, but this band would rather lay the groundwork for the next alternative explosion. You'll remember their name, but MTV won't play their videos and mainstream radio won't play their songs.
